Our little summer joys
Our little summer joys
There are joys that make no sound. We don't always notice them at the time, and then later they return, a little blurry, when summer is already long gone.
To extend the FW26 Invisible Happiness collection, we asked the team to dive back into their summer and pull out a moment.
Not necessarily the most spectacular or the most obvious one, but a happiness that made itself felt a little stronger than the others, without warning.
Everyone then returned with an image and a few words. A memory we usually keep to ourselves, and which we wanted to share with you to introduce this new Olow collection. Here are a few excerpts of these precious moments experienced by the team this summer.
That is what the new FW26 collection tells: those suspended moments that seem like nothing, yet remain long after we have lived them.

"No wind, no waves, no noise, 5:30 AM, the crowd of tourists is still fast asleep... The smell of coffee and the coolness of the morning, precious amidst these stifling days... A turn of the key, the hum of the engine starting, and ahead, the sea is like oil, untouched. A promise of fishing alone in the world at sunrise, along the oyster beds of the Île aux Oiseaux."
Alexandre - Olow Sales Manager

"We’re going to take you to a mysterious place, where thousands of treasures appear at low tide." Paradise for the tireless stone and seashell hunters they are. And there, buried in the sand, showing only a few ridges, the holy grail for our daughter Chiloé: a huge scallop shell. Immense happiness. The feeling of having found the most precious of wonders.
Valentin - Olow Co-founder, Art Direction and Communication

"The sound of pebbles rolling when the waves recede. Heard almost everywhere in Brittany or much further away, this soft, slightly hypnotizing music that for me represents summer."
Nina - Olow Photographer - Community Manager

"A rope tied to an oak tree, the Auray river below, and grandad taking us off to scramble in the forest. The big one goes for it, the little one waits for his turn, eyes fixed on the rope. A little summer joy, simple, at Le Bono."
Damien - Olow Brand Manager

"Living outdoors and having as my only activity contemplating the sunset before going to sleep along with it."
Juliette - Olow Art Director and Graphic Designer

"Looking up and noticing that the Saint-Malo seagulls enjoy Aldous Harding’s music. Or maybe they are looking for a chip shop to raid?"
Charline - Olow Project Manager, Shooting Manager

"Taking the time to be present. When I got my first paycheck after my studies, the first thing I wanted to treat myself to was him. A camera, a real one, that could follow me everywhere to capture my daily life. And then, reality caught up with me. Today, we all have a camera in our pocket. Compact, efficient, and always available. We whip it out without even thinking. We like the light, a meal arrives at the table, someone smiles, we take a photo, then we forget about it. He is different. He is bulkier, you have to remember to bring him, take him out, set him up, choose your frame. He requires you to take your time.
So this summer, I promised myself to only use him to capture my memories. Grafted to my neck, he followed me everywhere. And something changed. I started looking again before photographing. Thinking before pressing. Searching a little longer for the right frame, the right light, the right moment. I took the time to choose my shots, to move around to engrave a unique moment onto an SD card.
I photographed the landscapes, the people I love, the details of everyday life, light on a wall, a moment that was nothing exceptional. And maybe that is what I had forgotten. Photographing wasn’t just about keeping a record. It forced me to look, to be a little more present, simply connected to the moment."
Romane - Olow Graphic Designer and Scenographer

"Last swim and sunset with the family with the mix of salt and the sugar of flat peaches and nectarines on our hands and mouths... fits of laughter and the joy of seeing our son playing the bird and saying: I'm flying, Mommy!"
Terii - Olow Sourcing & Production Monitoring

"My little bit of summer happiness is getting some height. Climbing mountains, enjoying the effort, and discovering, once up there, landscapes I never tire of. A mixture of freedom, self-transcendence, and wide-open spaces that sums up my summer pretty well!"
