Fire & Joy
artists

Each collection is an opportunity to focus on the artists with whom we work to enhance our collection theme.

This season, no fewer than 21 collaborations, 21 universes, have come to illustrate Fire & Joy. Some are regulars, but there's also a whole host of new faces. We'll introduce you to them all right here.

ANTRA SVARCS

Australian-born artist Antra Svarcs is now based in the United States. Her work as an illustrator is characterised by images celebrating interpersonal relationships. From a technical point of view, she combines analogue and digital techniques, giving her work a unique touch.

ATELIER TITI

Ellen de Bruijn is a Dutch illustrator based in Utrecht. She likes to illustrate lightly and uses lots of colour, bold and minimalist shapes, trying to create worlds. Her work is a mix of handmade elements and digital techniques.

ATELIER TOKYO NOIR

Founded by Nassim Lahrèche, Atelier Tokyo Noir is an independent graphic design house based in Nantes. Initially studying international business, he naturally turned to graphic design as a self-taught student. He began by working on portraits, then moved on to typography and motion design.

CAIT MCENIFF

Illustrator and textile designer Cait Mc Enfin's work is characterised by a kind of false naivety. She tends to make art and see the world as she did as a child, through the use of "wobbly" lines. Her inspiration comes from mid-twentieth century design, characterised by flat shapes and limited colours, but also from folklore and popular art.

CAMILLE DE CUSSAC

Camille de Cussac is a Paris-based illustrator who reigns supreme over a colourful, funny and deceptively naïve world, always set against a white background. Armed with her felt-tip pens, the illustrator serves up a menu of colours. Her inspirations are vast, drawing on everything she observes.

CLAIRE RITCHIE

Claire Ritchie is an Australian multidisciplinary artist. Equally at home on textiles and prints, she chooses saturated shapes and colours to bring "something positive and uplifting to the world". She draws her inspiration from the natural world around her, producing work with shapes and colours that are both playful and nostalgic.

CLÉMENT LAURENTIN

At the heart of Clément Laurentin's work is the place of the individual in society. A painter, graphic designer and visual artist, his work is characterised by the use of distinct lines inspired by cubism, creating a poetic, rhythmic and melodic iconography.

DANS LES DENTS

Illustrator and graphic designer based in Nantes. His colourful, naïve and dreamlike world spans a wide range of genres (editorial, cultural, children's, textile graphics, etc.). He draws on pop culture to distil a touch of quirkiness and optimism into his work, using strong, colourful visuals.

ENIKO KATALIN EGED

Eniko Katalin Eged is a Hungarian illustrator based in Budapest. Her work is characterised by the illustration of themes linked to animals, nature and emotions, but also by her feminist commitment, sublimated by her characteristic palette, combining contrasting colours to highlight her emotions.

JEAN MALLARD

Trained at the Paris School of Decorative Arts, he has developed his style around comics, cartoons, screen printing and engraving, while retaining the gouache and watercolour that have followed him since childhood. He creates infinite worlds through a melting-pot of inspirations.

LÉNNY MATHÉ

A self-taught artist, Lenny Mathé, originally from Paris but now from Brussels, sails against the tide. His work is characterised by a mixture of styles and inspirations. With his dreamlike creatures and human figures, he questions the world and himself, creating a bridge between the mythical and the real.

LIV LEE

Australian illustrator Liv Lee's work is imbued with both happiness and nostalgia. Her 'bizarre' interpretations of plants, flowers and fruit are inspired by her surroundings. Her work is mainly done in gouache.

LUKE JOHN MATTHEW ARNOLD

Luke John Matthew Arnold is a multidisciplinary artist. His engaging work questions masculinity, sexuality and the social stereotypes that surround it. His style is characterised by colourful, raw and sometimes political pop illustrations.

MARCO OGGIAN

Born in Italy in the 90s, Marco Oggian is what you might call a committed artist. Through his simple forms and vivid palette, he has never hesitated to highlight critical, controversial and social issues. His commitment is felt in his work through a certain sarcasm.

MILES TEWSON

Miles Tewson is an illustrator based in Bristol, UK. His work is characterised by the use of a palette of pastel colours. With his minimalist strokes, he captures moments and landscapes from which emanates an atmosphere of serenity.

SIMON LANDREIN

Simon is based in Biarritz and divides his time between directing and illustrating. He has recently pared down his extensive range of styles to create simpler, more naive and narrative illustrations.

TIM LAHAN

Tim Lahan is an artist and illustrator based in California. He splits his time between commercial work and personal projects that range from self-publishing to painting. His work has been shown/collected in many different venues in print, online, and in the physical world, including Printed Matter, The New York Public Library, and the MoMA Library.

TWOTMA

Aimée Pédezert, aka Twotma, is a French street artist. Her style, with a free line and her own words, comes from an impulsive and deceptively approximate way of drawing. Always using Indian ink, she spreads her poetry via collages on walls. She draws her inspiration from everyday life, distilling her commitment through illustrations that are at once romantic, sarcastic and utopian.

WE ARE OUT OF OFFICE

If I had to use one word to describe the work of the duo at We are Out of Office, it would be sparkling. Founded by two graphic designers, Winneke de Gros and Felix Van Dam, the studio is based in the Netherlands. Each of their creations is an explosion of colour, inspired by their travels and the little things and details "that make life worth living".

WYATT HERSEY

Describing himself as a naturalist, ornithologist, river watcher, illustrator, designer and painter, Wyatt Hersey captures the connection between man and nature in his work. Through a palette of simple yet powerful colours, he seeks to celebrate the power of life on earth.
