Olow x Boby

The meeting between Boby and Mathieu (co-founder of Olow) was both friendly and artistic. So it was only natural that the idea of collaborating on a limited-edition collection of shirts, based on Boby’s photos, came about. Whether as a reporter, documentary filmmaker, or fashion photographer, his eye is everywhere, and he captures his surroundings with precision, wit, and poetry.

“We met one sunny afternoon on the terrace of a café on Place Petrucciani, in Paris’s 18th arrondissement, through our wives, who are friends in real life. Boby, a Marseille fan, and me, a Parisian through and through—on paper, we weren’t exactly cut out to get along. After that, meals at Constance’s, happy hours at each other’s places, and metal concerts (goes without saying) followed one after another. So it was only natural that one day, an Olow x Boby collaboration would come to be.”

Mathieu Sorosina, Co-Founder Behind the camera, Boby himself.

The models: his wife Elise and his nephew Baptiste.

BOBY'S PERSPECTIVE

“For me, Blend Energy is a typical week at home. In my work, no two weeks are alike, and every day is different. For example, I might start by shooting a celebrity portrait, then do a feature at a factory, followed by a fashion show, and finish off Saturday with a protest. Over the course of a week, I’ll meet all kinds of people who wouldn’t normally cross paths in real life.

It’s a mix of energy between protesters and luxury fashion shows. It’s not the same audience at all, but through my photos, they manage to come together. In my photos themselves, there are a lot of contrasts. In terms of colors, for example, between warm and cool, the aesthetic and the sarcastic. In the end, it’s never just one thing—there’s always a mix.”
