Studio Tokek
Studio Tokek is the work of designer Esther Elzinga, who is based in the Netherlands. She uses the stamp method, a hand-printing process which directly applies patterns, images and text onto fabric.
Esther only uses natural fibres such as linen and organic cotton, and her designs are mostly inspired by nature and her surrounding environment.
Seaqual
Every year, 8 million tons of garbage end up in the sea, the equivalent of one dumpster per minute. 80% of it settles to the bottom of the oceans, deteriorating into nanoparticles that fish ingest, mistaking them for plankton.
For many of our garments we are proud to use the ecological fiber created by the Spanish company Seaqual.
Indeed, since 2016, the Spanish company Seaqual 4U is engaged in a new program to support the protection of aquatic environments by creating a new fiber from plastic waste collected at the bottom of the sea. With 400 partner fishing boats, Seaqual 4U recovers this waste, treats it and recycles it through a continuous and discontinuous fiber and yarn that offers the same properties as virgin polyester. But with a much smaller ecological footprint: up to -20% water consumption, -40% energy consumption and -50% CO² emissions.
