Londres de soi-même.

A l’âge de 22 ans, je suis partie outre-manche. Je pensais fuir mon quotidien monotone, celui d’une post-adolescente mal dans sa peau. J’alternais les coupes de cheveux tantôt trop colorées, tantôt trop courtes, aussi moches que des habits mal assortis comme par besoin de changer d’identité. J’étais mal assortie avec ma vie et décidais alors d’en construire une nouvelle. Ailleurs.

Londres, c’était le choix un peu facile. A la fois pas trop loin mais diamétralement opposé à tout ce que je connaissais déjà. Je disais au revoir aux bancs de la fac, je quittais mon ennui chronique pour une cure d’euphorie à temps complet. Les gestuelles enfantines de ces gamins surexcités ne m’ont jamais séduite. Je les regardais vivre cachée derrière mon autisme statique, perturbant et perturbé. Leur engouement permanent pour les jeudi soirs alcoolisés et leur apparence trop parfaite effrayaient mes trop nombreux complexes. J’attendais qu’on me réveille.

 

Décembre 2012. J’ai 28 ans. L’envol est délicat, l’étendue blanche onctueuse. L’aile droite de l’avion caresse sensuellement chacun des nuages. Le hublot donne pourtant sur un réacteur prêt à s’enflammer. Je vis des préliminaires non érotiques, un gilet de sauvetage sous le siège. Je plane doucement dans cette immensité cotonneuse aussi apaisante qu’une montée de Lexomyl en intra-veineuses. Le voyage dans le passé a commencé.

 

Se promener dans les rues de Londres en période de Noël provoque, à quelques choses près, le même plaisir orgasmique qu’écouter « Near Light » d’Olafur Arnalds quand il neige. La douce mélancolie de l’hiver a ce pouvoir presque magique de nous faire nous sentir vivants. J’ai enfilé le plus gros des manteaux et les plus épais de mes gants, puis j’ai marché sous les décorations lumineuses extravagantes de fin d’année en me disant « Bordel, ici rien a changé. Moi, oui. »

 

Arrêt « Maida Vale ». Là où les maisons blanches alternent avec celles en briques rouges. Elles s’entassent les unes à côté des autres, un escalier comme devanture, quelques fenêtres comme fioritures. Les portes sont unies, les paillassons dépoussiérés. Les rues sont lisses, aussi brillantes qu’un crâne de chauve en plein été. Le calme est aussi déconcertant que le solo d’un violoniste dans un concert des Sex Pistols. L’effervescence a déserté le front comme pour laisser place aux souvenirs bienveillants, ceux qui hantaient mes soirées depuis des années. Il fallait que je revienne dans ce quartier qui m’a vue renaître. Oui, c’est là-bas que je me suis réveillée après des siècles de mutisme, coincée dans un corps qui n’était pas le mien, je suffoquais dans un bocal en regardant les autres vivre. A mon tour, j’allais vivre.

 

Le canal de Warwick Avenue supporte les péniches multicolores, fleuries en toute saison. Sans broncher, il laisse couler. Les drapeaux de fête foraine sont suspendues comme pour souhaiter la bienvenue. Il y a des gens qui vivent là, en contre-bas de la vie réelle, entre les luxueuses Bentley garées devant les garages de Little Venice et les jardins entretenus, malgré le froid, des somptueuses villas.

Je parcours les chemins arpentés des années auparavant. Je déguste avec nostalgie chaque moment de ce film déjà vu. Le « full breakfast » sur Elgin Avenue a le même goût, la voix des news agents pakistanais le même accent, les pintes de Strongbow de Covent Garden font tourner la tête. Bref, le film défile de plus belle.

 

L’avion en métal gris accroché sur un des murs en pierre de Camden est condamné à ne jamais décoller. Le Bar Fly, près de Chalk Farm, enferme tous les soirs des trésors sonores avides de célébrité, capables de faire trembler les baies vitrées. ‘Movember & Sons’ est inscrit en lettres capitales, typographie Western, sur l’un des murs du bar. Bien que le parquet sente la bière de la veille et colle aux semelles, l’idée que les Pink Floyd ou autres Oasis aient pu fouler ce même sol me rend aussi hystérique que les manifestants fachos anti-mariage pour tous. Je fais une halte Burger- oignons frits- confiture au ‘Skiddaw Pub’, sur Chippenham Road, auquel j’ai personnellement décerné le titre de meilleur burger de la galaxie. Neptuniens , martiens et Saturniens compris. (Pluton exclu, puisque rejeté du club très fermé des planètes à la mode.) Ma connaissance légendaire des plats à fort potentiel calorifique est un gage de confiance. Le ‘Sausage & Mash Cafe’ de Notting Hill pourrait en témoigner puisqu’ils sont en partie responsables d’une partie des nombreux kilos que je renie encore aujourd’hui, éparpillés au hasard sur une hauteur totale d’un mètre soixante.

 

J’ai parcouru sans relâche chaque recoin de cette ville aux milles merveilles, où les gens courent pour te donner l’impression de ne pas avancer. Pourtant. C’est bien là-bas que j’ai progressé, appris à aimer la solitude comme on aime une bouteille d’eau gazeuse un lendemain de cuite. Depuis, je suis autiste et je me soigne. Mais je vais bien.

 

Pour la première fois, j’ai prononcé « chez moi ».

Dans une vaste étendue de bâtiments en briques,

entre les gyrophares et les chats sur les toits,

jamais dans la pénombre et toujours euphorique.

The Vendor also reserves the right to reject orders from any customer with whom the Vendor have an ongoing legal dispute regarding a prior order.

Place of Delivery

The place of Delivery shall be determined by the Customer within the Territory, under sanction to refuse the Order.

The Customer is exclusively responsible for any error in the Delivery due to a lack of indication contained in the Order.

Amount of Delivery Charges

The amount of Delivery Charges depends upon the amount of the Order and upon the Method of Delivery the Customer chooses. In any case, the amount of Delivery Charges shall be indicated to you before the Order Confirmation.

The Delivery Charges are free if the amount exceeds EUR 200,00.

Delivery Term

Delivery Terms are available for review on the Website. They may change depending on the availability of the Goods subject of the Order.

Delivery Terms are expressed in working days and correspond to an average time for preparing and shipping the Order to the Customer.

Delivery Terms shall begin to run at the Order Confirmation date.

Delays

In the event of delays in the Delivery, the Order is not cancelled. The Vendor shall then reimburse the Customer of the payment he/she made, within fifteen (15) days from receipt of the returned products in the same condition as they were sent and must have their original label. The return expenses remain at the cost of the Customer.

Tracking

The Customer can follow the track progress of his/her Order on his/her account on the Website. Regarding the delivery progress, the Customer shall contact the Company to obtain a tracker number, to follow the progress.
